Z83 form is the application for employment document used. The purpose of the Z83 application form is to help a government department in selecting a person for an advertised post. The Z83 form can also be used to identify job seekers to be interviewed. All candidates are required to fill in the Z83 application form accurately, legibly and completely since all applicants cannot be interviewed.
What is a z83 form?
Z83 refers to the application for employment form and is for South Africa Government Departments (National and Provincial). Only people who wish to apply for an advertised position in a government department must complete it.
The Z83 form requires basic information such as personal information, contact information, language proficiency, qualifications, work experience and references. Candidates who are called for interviews will be requested to provide additional certified information that may be required to make a final selection.
Non-RSA Citizens/Permanent Resident Permit Holders must attach a copy of their Permanent Residence Permits to their applications. Should you be in possession of a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
Applicants who do not comply with the above-mentioned requirements, as well as applications received late, will not be considered. The Department does not accept applications via fax or email. Failure to submit all the requested documents will result in the application not being considered. Correspondence will be limited to short-listed candidates only.
If you have not been contacted within eight (8) weeks after the closing date of this advertisement, please accept that your application was unsuccessful. Suitable candidates will be subjected to a personnel suitability check (criminal record, citizenship, credit record checks, qualification verification and employment verification).
Where applicable, candidates will be subjected to a skills/knowledge test. Successful candidates will be appointed on a probation period of 12 months. The Department reserves the right not to make any appointment(s) to the above post. Successful candidates will be expected to sign a performance agreement.

Step 2: Fill in the Z83 form completely. You need to complete the form accurately and legibly by filling in Section A to Section G.
Step 3: Complete the Declaration Section. Read through and sign the form; your application will not be considered if you have not dated and signed the form.
Step 4: After completing the form, remember to attach your current CV (five pages maximum) together with certified copies of your ID, academic qualifications and proof of other requirements as indicated in the advertisement.
Step 5: Post or hand deliver your completed Z83 form and all the required documents to the address listed in the advertisement
