How to Make a GCash Account
Before you can start using the mobile service, you need to register for an account first. Registration is quick and easy through the GCash mobile app. There are other ways to register but the easiest way is through the app, since all other methods require a phone.
Download the GCash App

Registration Steps via the GCash App
- Download the GCash mobile app[1]
- Enter your mobile number and tap “Next.”
- You will receive a six-digit authentication code on the number you provided. Input the code then tap “Submit Code.”
- Provide your information in the next pages such as name, birthdate, address, and email address and tap “Submit.”
- Create a four-digit mobile PIN (MPIN). You will use this MPIN in all GCash transactions.
- Read through the Terms and Conditions and tap “Submit.”
- Tap “Proceed to Login” to explore your new GCash account. Log in using your four-digit MPIN.
Registration Steps via the GCash website
- If you need to register through a desktop for some reason, head down to the the GCash registration page.[2]
- Enter your mobile number and click “Next.” You’ll receive a six-digit authentication code on your phone. Input the code then click “Submit Code.”
- Scroll through the Terms and Conditions and click “Accept.”
- Provide your personal information on the next page and click “Submit.”
- Create a four-digit MPIN.
- Once complete, you’ll be directed to a QR code. Scan it to download the GCash app.
Registration Steps via the *143# Menu
- Dial *143# on your mobile phone.
- Find “GCash.”
- Click “Register.”
- Enter your four-digit GCash PIN, name, birth year, and address.
- Wait for a message on your phone that confirms your registration.
Registration Steps via Messenger
- Search for @gcashofficial on the Messenger app.
- Tap “Get Started.”
- Enter your mobile number and tap “Continue.”
- You will receive a six-digit authentication code on the number you provided. Input the code then tap “Submit Code.”
- Provide your personal information on the next page and click “Submit.”
- Create a four-digit MPIN. Read through the Terms and Conditions and tap “Submit.”
How to Verify GCash
Account verification, also known as Know Your Customer (KYC), is required by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to validate the identity of customers for money services like GCash. You need to undergo the GCash verification process to unlock all its useful features and services.
Steps to Account Verification
- Login to your GCash account on your app.
- Tap the menu bar on the upper left corner and tap “Verify Now.”
- Choose “Get Fully Verified” and tap “Next.”
- Choose a valid ID, tap “Next,” and take a picture of the ID.
- Tap “Next” and take a selfie. Make sure you’re in a well-lit room.
- Fill in the required information and make sure everything is accurate.
- Tick the box to accept the Terms and Conditions and tap “Confirm.”
- Wait for 30 minutes for GCash to review your application.
How to Load Your GCash Wallet
Now it’s time to learn how to put money in your GCash wallet. Using the app is the most convenient way to get a load. You can either transfer money from your bank account through the app or over-the-counter transactions with partner outlets. You can also load up your GCash wallet via remittances.
How to Link Your Bank Account
Before you can transfer money from your bank account to your GCash wallet, you need to link your bank account to GCash. Here’s how you do it.
- Tap the menu bar on the upper left corner. From there, tap “My Linked Accounts” and then tap “My Bank Cards.”
- Tap “Add Card” and input the card details of your bank’s debit card.
- Once you submit your details, you will be redirected to your bank’s verification page. Your bank will send you a one-time password (OTP) code via SMS. Input the OTP to proceed.
- Once verified, you will receive a text saying that your bank is now linked to GCash.
How to Cash-In via Mastercard or Visa
- Tap “Cash-In” on the GCash app dashboard and tap the “Online Banking” tab.
- Tap “Mastercard/Visa,” enter the amount you want to cash in, and tap “Confirm.”
- You will then be redirected to your bank’s verification page.
- Your bank will send you a one-time password (OTP) code via SMS. Input the OTP to proceed.
- Wait for the confirmation text before checking your new GCash balance.
How to Cash-In via Partner Banks
You can also connect your banking apps to GCash for easier cash-ins. GCash is compatible with most banking apps, but they only offer zero transaction fees to BPI, RCBC, and UnionBank apps. Others charge PHP 10 – PHP 25 per transaction.
- To link your banking app, tap the menu bar and tap “My Linked Accounts.”
- Tap your preferred bank and follow the next instructions.
- Once you’ve linked your banking app, you can now head to the dashboard and tap “Cash-In.”
- Tap the “Online Banking” tab and select your linked bank.
- Enter the desired amount and tap “Confirm.”
- Your bank will send you an OTP via SMS. Input the code and tap “Submit.”
- Wait for the confirmation text before checking your new GCash balance.
How to Cash-In via Remittance
You can also claim your remittance and have it sent straight to your GCash wallet. Currently, GCash has partnered with MoneyGram and Western Union.
- Tap “Cash-In” on the GCash app dashboard and tap the “Remittance” tab.
- Choose between MoneyGram and Western Union.
- Enter the expected amount and the reference number. Moneygram requires an 8-digit number while Western Union requires 10 digits.
- Tap “Next” and wait for the confirmation text before checking your new GCash balance.
How to Cash-In via PayPal
You can also connect your PayPal account to your GCash. This is for freelancers who want to spend their PayPal balance and expats looking to convert their money to Philippine Peso easily.
- To link GCash to PayPal, tap the menu bar and tap “My Linked Accounts.”
- Tap PayPal and enter your account’s email address.
- You will then be directed to the PayPal login page. Enter your email and password, tick the two boxes, and tap “Authorize.”
- Once you’ve linked your GCash to PayPal, you can now head to the dashboard and tap “Cash-In.”
- Tap the “Remittance” tab and tap “PayPal.”
- Enter the desired amount, tap “Next,” and tap “Confirm.”
- Once confirmed, expect your money within 24 hours. Wait for the confirmation text before checking your new GCash balance.
How to Cash-In via 7-Eleven and other Authorized Outlets
To load your GCash through 7-Eleven, just visit any branch near you. Go to the CliQQ kiosk and select GCash under e-money. Get the barcode then pay at the cashier.
