Like all major banks, Capitec Bank has an easy-to-use app that allows customers to perform most functions without visiting a branch.
Users can transfer payments, view their bank balances and even email stamped statements using the Capitec app. It’s no wonder it already has more than a million downloads on both Android Google Play and iOS App Store.
How to transfer money using Capitec app
To send cash using the Capitec app, tap “Transact” followed by “Send cash.” Enter your remote PIN and choose which account to transfer money from.
Enter the cash amount and create a four-digit secret code, which the person you’re sending to will use to withdraw the cash.
Tap “Next” and accept the terms and conditions after ticking the boxes. Tap “Yes” to confirm the transaction. Capitec Bank will then send you an SMS with a reference number.
Send this reference number to the person you’re sending money to. In another message, send that person the secret code too. Your Capitec money transfer transaction will now be complete.
How to transfer money using Capitec USSD
You may also transfer money using Capitec USSD, which requires you to register for mobile banking. Simply dial *120*3279# and reply 9.
Next, accept the terms and conditions, reply 1, and choose the account you wish to send money from. Then, enter the cash amount.
You will then need to create a four-digit secret code, which the person you’re sending to will use to withdraw the cash. Enter your mobile banking PIN to compete the transaction.
Capitec Bank will then send you an SMS with a reference number which you will send to the recipient. In another message, send the recipient the secret code too. The Capitec cash send transaction will now be complete.
Capitec cash send withdrawal
If you’re the recipient, Capitec cash send withdrawal is easy once you receive the reference number and the four-digit secret code.
You will need to visit a Capitec branch ATM or a Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Game, Makro or Builders store. Go to a till point and ask for Capitec cash transfer.
Provide the teller your reference number, name, surname, cellphone number, and four-digit secret code. If all is in order, you will then receive your cash.
How to reverse money using Capitec app
In case you mistakenly sent money to someone via the Capitec app, you may be able to reverse money transfer. You will need to call the Capitec contact number on 0860 10 20 43 for assistance.
According to the Bank, a recall fee will apply and a successful recall cannot be guaranteed.
How to get a bank statement from Capitec app
You can get a bank statement from your Capitec app by sending it from the app to your email address. Simply open the app and follow the steps outlined below.
- Choose Save.
- Enter your secret Remote Pin to sign in.
- Choose your account.
- Select “Email Statement.”
- Specify the date range.
- Enter your email address.
- Tap send to email the statement.
How To Download Capitec app
To download the Capitec banking app, you first need to visit your branch, open an account if you haven’t already done so, and verify your phone and email address.
Capitec Bank will then send you an SMS with a link to download the Capitec app. You will then be able to install and activate it.
